The Sadness of Burma
She grew up under the strict regime of a military father, an officer in the Burmese Army. When the country saw its first democratic elections in 2015 her hopes were high that she would never have to suffer from suppression – neither at home or in society. However, with the military coup in 2020 and thousands killed and imprisoned, her hopes were replaced by fear and pain. All that is left is the grave sadness of Burma.
